[Artist Biography]

Procktor was a somewhat erratic artist, but his best work had a touch of
magic.
He was though one of the best watercolourists of his generation, and perhaps
an even better colour etcher. His handling of aquatint and sugar aquatint,
was particularly sophisticated.
